Our People

The Hastings Prince Edward Land Trust is led and governed by a six-member Board of Directors.

HEPLT is now in an exciting phase of capacity-building and growth. We will soon be joined by an Executive Director who will build a staff team to work with communities in Prince Edward and Hastings Counties to  protect and care for even more of the land you love.

Andy Margetson, Chair

Andy has been involved in conservation stewardship and protection in Hastings and Prince Edward counties for more than 30 years. He worked with landowners delivering stewardship programs for Wildlife Habitat Canada and the Bay of Quinte Remedial Action Plan. He then worked as a Stewardship Coordinator for the Ministry of Natural Resources working with a volunteer stewardship council in Prince Edward County, later becoming Supervisor of an operations team at the Kingston Area MNR office. Andy is a founding officer for the Hastings Prince Edward Land Trust. He continues to believe in the role of local land trusts in protecting ecologically significant properties in perpetuity. Andy holds a Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph. He lives and farms in Prince Edward County.
