As each day passes, more and more people are learning what residents of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties of Eastern Ontario have known for years – it’s a great place to live! From the world famous Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County to the granite highlands of north Hastings , we are indeed fortunate to live in an area that provides so much not only for people, but also for wildlife and native plants.
As the popularity of the area grows it’s more important than ever that the significant features of our land and water are protected for the benefit of future generations. From the perspective of the members of the Hastings and Prince Edward Land Trust (HPELT), now is the time to preserve what is important to us before it is too late – a view shared by more and more people each day.
We believe it’s important to work cooperatively with landowners, the community and our conservation partners. We also believe that to protect those special places, it’s important to use innovative methods that ensure that the goals of landowners, the community and The Trust are met.
So, whether you’re a landowner or someone interested in preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Hastings and Prince Edward County, I encourage you to join us today and help us carry out this important work.
